THEORY OF OPERATION
1.0 FREE CHLORINE DEFINED. Free Chlorine or "freely active chlorine"
is defined as the sum of molecular chlorine (Cl ), hypochlorous acid

(HOCl) and hypochlorite ions (OCl ). Molecular chlorine occurs at
