2 2 2 2 2 Hardware Installation The installation of the Smartio CP-104UL board involves both hardware and software. Software installation is discussed in the next chapter. In this chapter, we discuss hardware installation. The no-switch-no-jumper Smartio CP-104UL board’s IRQ number and I/O addresses are assigned automatically by the PCI BIOS. Note! Each board must occupy one unique IRQ and four 8-byte I/O addresses, which are assigned automatically by the PCI BIOS. However, you can select a free IRQ number manually via the PC’s BIOS setup for the PCI slot, but normally this method is not available for the I/O address. The possible IRQ numbers are 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 10, 11, 12, and 15. The possible I/O addresses are from 0x0000 to 0xFFFF. For example, if COM3 is assigned to Port 1, then COM4 will be automatically assigned to Port 2. 10. Select an Rx FIFO Trigger from Rx FIFO Trigger pull-down list.
