3 Setting Up the Monitor To set up the monitor, ensure that the power is turned off to the monitor, computer system, and other attached devices, then follow the instructions below. Connecting the Cables 1. Place the monitor in a convenient, well-ventilated location near the computer. 2. Connect a VGA signal cable or DVI-D signal cable. 4 Operating the Monitor Software and Utilities The CD that comes with the monitor contains files you can install on the computer: ● an .INF (Information) file ● an .ICM (Image Color Matching) file ● auto-adjustment pattern utility additional software for the monitor model ● NOTE: If the monitor does not include a CD, the .INF and .ICM files can be downloaded from the HP monitors support Web site.
