Removing the Protective Materials The printer is protected during shipping by pieces of white packing material. Also, the wide carriage printer is protected by a locking clip, which must be removed before you turn on the printer. CAUTION: Before turning on the wide carriage printer, be absolutely sure you have removed the locking clip. Turning on the printer while the clip is attached may seriously damage the mechanism.
