INTRODUCTION This chapter describes the features of the DES-1016D and some background information about Ethernet/Fast Ethernet switching technology. UNPACKING AND SETUP This chapter provides unpacking and setup information for the DES-1016D. Unpacking Open the shipping carton for the Switch and carefully unpack its contents. 4. Make sure that there is proper heat dissipation from and adequate ventilation around the Switch. Do not place heavy objects on the Switch.
