Please use Canon AA-size NiMH batteries and charger recommended for use with these batteries. Use of another charger may cause batteries to overheat or deform, posing risk of fire injury and damage to the surroundings. Disconnect the battery charger and compact power adapter from both the camera and the power outlet after recharging and when they are not in use to avoid fire and other hazards. Continuous use over a long period may cause a unit to overheat and distort, resulting in fire.

Preparing the Camera While it is possible to use AA-size nickel-cadmium batteries, performance is 1 unreliable and their use is not recommended. Never mix new batteries together with batteries that have been used in other devices. The partially used batteries may leak.
