B. Filling Oil Sump 2 3 1. Be sure engine is upright and level. 2. Unscrew oil fill cap from oil filler tube and wipe dipstick 1 clean. See Figure 8. 4 3. Screw oil fill cap back into oil filler tube. Tighten securely. 4. Unscrew and remove oil fill cap from oil filler tube. Note oil level. E. Low Oil Shutdown Light Some engines are equipped with an optional low oil 6 7 shutdown system that includes a light but does not include a rocker switch. The float switch in this system will shut the 5 engine off while it is running if the oil level in the crankcase 4 falls below a predetermined level. Oil must be added to the engine to bring the oil to the proper level before the engine will start. If an attempt is made to start the engine before oil is added, the light will flash as

H. Climate Guard Air® Cleaner Some engines are equipped with an optional Climate Front View Guard Air Cleaner or Climate Guard. See Figures 15 and 16. I. 6. When engine starts: a. Release starter button or ignition switch key. b. Move Choke Control to “1/2 CHOKE” position until engine runs smoothly. See Figures 20 thru 22. c. Next, move Choke Control to “NO CHOKE” position. Move Engine Speed Control to desired speed in “RUN” range. NOTES If engine starts but falters when Choke Control is moved to “NO CHOKE” position: a. B. Engines with Recoil Starters 1. To avoid carbon monoxide poisoning, make sure engine is outdoors in a well-ventilated area. 1 2.
