For the best perfor- mance, we recommend alkaline batteries, such as RadioShack Cat. No. 23-555. Cautions: • Always use fresh batteries of the required size and recommended type. • Do not mix old and new batteries, different types of batteries (standard, alkaline, or re- chargeable), or rechargeable batteries of dif- ferent capacities. 12

Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw in the battery cover on the bottom of the system, then slide the cover off. 13
