UNPACKING Your drill press is shipped complete in one container. Carefully unpack the drill press and all loose items from the container. Figure 2 illustrates the drill press and all loose items supplied with the machine. CLEANING Remove the protective coating from the machined surfaces of the drill press and all loose items. This coating may be removed with a soft cloth moistened with kerosene. DO NOT use acetone, gasoline, or lacquer thinner for this purpose. ASSEMBLING THE DRILL PRESS 1. POWER CONNECTIONS A separate 110-120 volt, grounded electrical circuit should be used for your drill press. This circuit should not be less than #12 wire and should be protected with a 20 amp fuse or circuit breaker. Before connecting the drill press to the power line, make sure the switch is in the "OFF" position. DRILLING HOLES TO DEPTH B Where a number of holes are to be drilled to exactly the same depth, a depth stop is provided in the pinion shaft housing and is used as follows: D 1. BORING IN WOOD Twist drills, although intended for metal drilling, may also be used for boring holes in wood.
