3. PRE-OPERATION CHECK BLADE INSPECTION m To avoid seri- ous injury by the cutting blade, disconnect the extension cord from the mower to prevent acci- dental starting. Wear heavy gloves to protect your hands from the blade. Rest the mower on its left side, so the power switch will not be in the dirt. Inspect the blade for signs of wear or damage. A dull blade can be sharpened, but a blade that is worn out, bent, cracked, or otherwise damaged must be replaced. Check that the blade

POWER SWITCH MOTOR CONTROLS The power switch is equipped with a safety button which blocks the motor con- trol lever to prevent unintentional starting while handling the mower. The lever can be pulled to start the motor and blade only while pushing the button.
