4 • Hanging and Wiring the Fan 4-1. Raise the fan and align the slots in the canopy with the hooks on the ceiling plate. Note: To hang the fan, you must tilt the canopy to an almost vertical position so that the canopy slots sit on the ceiling plate hooks. 5 • Installing the Canopy and Canopy Trim Ring WARNING: Failure to complete the following steps could cause the fan Step 5-1 to fall. 6 • Assembling the Blades Hunter fans use several styles of fan blade irons (brackets that hold the blade to the fan). 6-1. Your fan may include blade grommets. 7 • Completing Your Installation With or Without a Light Fixture Your Hunter fan comes with an integrated light fi xture assembly and an optional switch housing cap and plug button. Th is feature gives you the option of installing the fan with OR without the included light fi xture. Th e steps below direct you whether or not you are installing a light fi xture. Uninstalling the Light Fixture 1. To uninstall the light fi xture, fi rst disconnect the plug connectors between the black wire and the black/white wire. Lower Switch 2. 8 • Operating and Cleaning Your Ceiling Fan 8-1. Turn on electrical power to the fan. 8-2. Th e fan pull chain controls power to the fan.
