4 • Hanging and Wiring the Fan 4-1. Raise the fan and align the slots in the canopy with the hooks on the ceiling plate. Note: To hang the fan, you must tilt the canopy to an almost vertical position so that the canopy slots sit on the ceiling plate hooks. 5 • Installing the Canopy and Canopy Trim Ring WARNING: Failure to complete the following steps could cause the fan Step 5-1 to fall. 6 • Assembling the Blades Hunter fans use several styles of fan blade irons (brackets that hold the blade to the fan). 6-1. Your fan may include blade grommets. Uninstalling the Light Fixture 1. To uninstall the light fi xture, fi rst disconnect the plug connectors between the black wire and the black/white wire. Lower Switch 2. 8 • Operating and Cleaning Your Ceiling Fan 8-1. Turn on electrical power to the fan. 8-2. Th e fan pull chain controls power to the fan.
