DASH DISASSEMBLY 99-5808 FORD FREESTAR 2004-2007 MERCURY MONTEREY 2004-2007 A Disconnect the negative battery terminal 1 to prevent an accidental short circuit. Unsnap and remove entire panel surrounding 2 radio and climate controls. (FIGURE A) 3 Remove (4) 7mm screws to remove B factory radio. KIT ASSEMBLY 99-5808 DIN HEAD UNIT PROVISIONS: 1 Slide the DIN cage into the Radio Housing and secure by bending the metal locking tabs down. (Figure A) 2 Slide the after-market head unit into the cage and secure. (Figure B) ISO DIN Head Unit Provision Mount the ISO Brackets to the head 1 unit with the screws supplied with the unit. Slide the head unit into the radio 2 opening until the side clips engage. Snap the Trim plate into the Radio 3 Housing. 3

Metra recom- mends using the proper mating adapter and making the con- nections as shown. (Isolate and individually tape off the ends of any unused wires to prevent electrical short circuit) Re-connect the negative battery 2 terminal and test the unit for proper operation. 3 Reassemble radio and dash assemblies in reverse order of disassembly. 4 FINAL ASSEMBLY
