MKE 1 The MKE 1 is a high-quality, sub-miniature, sweat- resistant clip-on condenser microphone. It features excellent sound quality and rugged design. The frequency response curve has been optimized for stage, studio and reporting applications (ENG). The MKE 1 is fitted with a very thin (only 1 mm) yet extremely rugged cable, making this microphone an ideal partner for all live sound applications. Features Sub-miniature microphone High maximum sound pressure level Wide frequency response wit

Treble boost Your microphone is supplied MZC 1-1 with two different frequency response caps. These caps allow you to adjust the treble response of the microphone (see “Free-field MZC 1-2 frequency response curve” on page 7). In addition, the large frequency response cap attenuates wind noise by approx. 15 dB and provides an extended protection against the ingress of moisture. Slip the cap of your choice onto the microphone until it locks into place. Make-up protection When putting on make-up,

Attachment of the microphone Depending on the area of application, you can attach the MKE 1 in different ways to either clothing or the body. Attachment to the body Use a suitable means (adhesive tape, hair clip, etc.) to attach the microphone to the hair or the body. For a better hold, use the cable sleeves on the microphone cable. Attachment to clothing Use the MZQ 02 clip to attach the microphone to a lapel, tie, collar, etc. 4

To fix the cable, snap one of the cable sleeves into the microphone holder and guide the cable through the cable grip . You can rotate the microphone holder in the clip in steps of 90°. Adjust the cable in the cable grip so that no cable loop is formed. For thin cloths (e.g. silk), use the outermost hole where the clip’s contact pressure is the highest. 5

The MZM 2/MZM 10 magnetic mount set can be used to unobtrusively attach the microphone to clothing. The frictional force between the micro-phone and the fabric is often sufficient to ensure that the microphone is not displaced. For smooth and soft cloths, the neckstrap (included in the delivery) ensures that the microphone is not displaced from its proper position. You can also use the ZH 102 pin mount (“Dracula” clip) to attach the microphone to clothing made of fabric that will not be damaged

Wind protection The quality of outdoor recordings and close miking can be impaired by wind noise. First of all, use the supplied MZC 1-2 frequency response cap. An increased attenuation of wind noise can be obtained by using the MZW 1 basket windshield and the MZW 02 foam windshield . To begin with, use the MZW1 basket windshield which reduces wind noise by approx. 22 dB. With the additional MZW 02 foam windshield you can reduce wind noise by a further 10 dB. The MZW 1 and MZW 02 ar
