Related service information Power management features To reduce power consumption, the computer has three power management modes: standby, suspend, and hibernation. Standby mode: In standby mode, the following occurs: The LCD backlight turns off. The hard disk drive motor stops. The speaker is muted. Related service information behavior is independent of the operating system. So, if you have set the low-battery alarm, the computer may not do what you specified. It chooses either your setting or the default setting, whichever is appropriate. Any one of the following events causes the computer to resume operation from suspend mode: The Fn key is pressed.
