USING YOUR DRIP COFFEEMAKER – PREPARING COFFEE 1. Place appliance on dry, level, heat-resistant surface, away from any edge. 2. Plug cord into a 120 volt AC electric outlet only. 3. Open the hinged water reservoir and pour in the desired quantity of clean cool water for the number of cups you are brewing. Never pour more water into the reservoir than the marked maximum level. PROGRAMMING THE KEEP WARM HOURS SETTING FUNCTION (GLASS CARAFE VERSION ONLY) Use PROG/AUTO button to select the Keep Warm Hours setting function. The PROG/AUTO indicator light and the last set (programmed) 1-digit Keep Warm Hour LCD will be flashing. Note: The default value will be the last programmed Keep Warm Hours setting. AUTO-BREW Each press of the PROG/AUTO button will alternatively select between turning Auto- Brew on and Auto-Brew off. Pressing the PROG/AUTO button when Auto-Brew is off sets the Auto-Brew to on, the Auto LCD icon flashes, and the display indicates the programmed Auto-Brew time (steady) in the display for 3 seconds. LCD Back-Light Setting Function: Upon initial connection to a power source or the resumption of power after a power failure the default setting is Auto-off. The blue back-light display will turn off after approximately one minute if the unit is off. The blue back-light display will remain on while the coffeemaker is brewing or in keep warm mode. The blue back-light display can be set to “Always on” by pressing the HOUR and MINUTE buttons at the same time for approximately five seconds.

DECALCIFYING YOUR DRIP COFFEEMAKER • The coffeemaker must be decalcified periodically. Over time, mineral deposits build up on internal parts and effect the operation of the appliance. The frequency of decalcification depends on the hardness of your water and how often you use the Drip Coffeemaker.
