Emergency Starting If the recoil Starter is not working properly, the engine can be started with the spare starter rope in the tool kit. 1. Remove the engine cover. 2. Remove the recoil starter by removing the three 6 mm bolts. 3. Wind the spare rope clockwise around the pulley to start the engine. CAUTION: Keep clear or moving parts. 4. Reinstall the engine cover.
