Formatting Serial ATA Hard Drives with Macintosh OS 9.XX Caution: Please make sure your data is backed up before attempting to format or change the partition layout of your hard drives. 1. Turn on your Power Macintosh computer. 2. Open Apple’s Drive Setup.
