1 Before Installing TP Desktop Connector from the Software Products Library CD This chapter discusses the preparations and requirements necessary for installing Compaq TP Desktop Connector and Compaq TP Desktop Connector Gateway for ACMS software on an OpenVMS system from the Software Products Library CD and also provides a general overview of the installation process. You install the client software by starting with a VMSINSTAL command on an OpenVMS system. This places on the OpenVMS system the client software in the form of self-extracting archive files. The next steps depend on your target desktop platform. The use of the Software Products Library CD and VMSINSTAL is described in Chapter 2. The procedure for installing the client software and the accompanying sample client application files consists of the following general steps (described in Chapter 3): 1.
