Overview of the MC 3100 installation 17 Installation options Two installation options exist: MCG 3100 Server is installed on one server—all software components are installed on one supported COTS server. This is the nonredundant configuration. MCG 3100 Server is installed on two servers—all software components are installed on two supported COTS servers, configured identically. If one server fails or is unavailable, the clients switch to the other server. This is the redundant configuration.
